At today’s session of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, a draft law was reviewed that proposes amendments and additions to the Code of Administrative Responsibility aimed at increasing the efficiency of public transport use. The draft law was conceptually discussed in the first reading.

Now, the movement of other vehicles on lanes designated for public transport will be prohibited
In recent years, practical measures have been taken in the country to improve the quality of public transport services for the population, develop the transport system, and give priority to public transport.

In particular, the number of buses has been doubled in the last 2 years, and separate lanes have been designated for buses. The interval between buses has been reduced by half, and the number of passengers has increased by two times.

The issue of traffic congestion has become a particularly pressing problem for the population, especially in Tashkent. In the last 2-3 years, daily traffic jams of 7-9 points, and at some times even up to 10 points, have been observed in Tashkent.

Current legislation does not provide for accountability for the movement of other vehicles in lanes designated for public transport.

According to this draft law, accountability is proposed for violating the traffic rules in lanes designated for public transport.

The draft law was adopted by the deputies in the first reading.
