The President ordered to dismiss ten district and two city hokims

Shavkat Mirziyoyev has ordered to dismiss the hokims of Amudarya, Kurghantepa, Bukhara, Mirishkor, Chirakchi, Khatyrchi, Payarik, Akaltyn, Gulistan, Akkurgan districts, as well as Navoi and Yangiyul cities. They leave their workplaces due to low speed of absorption of foreign investments and unsatisfactory investment climate.
Today, 11 July, a video conference call on additional measures to further expand investment attractiveness is being held under the chairmanship of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. This was reported by the press service of the head of state.
It is noted that the meeting considers the fulfilment of tasks on planning of foreign investments planned for the beginning of the year. According to him, within the framework of investment and regional programmes of the current year, the main stages of development of foreign investments for a total of $20 bln have been set.
As a positive experience in this regard, over $50 mln has been transferred directly to Andijan city, Bulakbashi, Romitan, Gallaaral, Farish, Karmanin, Davlatabad, Chust, Kattakurgan and Syrdarya districts over the past six months. As a result, a total of 50,000 new jobs have been created in these districts and additional income of 1 trln soums has been received.
According to the report, poor performance and unsatisfactory investment climate is noted in Amudarya, Kurghantepa, Bukhara, Mirishkor, Chirakchi, Khatyrchi, Payaryk, Akaltyn, Gulistan, Akkurgan districts, as well as in Navoi and Yangiyul cities. The President issued an order to dismiss the hokims of these districts and cities.
"The Prosecutor General's Office and the Accounts Chamber have been instructed to examine the activities of these khokims and ensure compliance with the law," the statement said.
