Turkey and Uzbekistan signed an agreement on tourism development
The Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey Mehmet Nuri Ersoy and the Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abduhakimov signed a protocol on intentions and an action plan to improve cooperation in the field of tourism, aimed at increasing the number of flights between the two countries and increasing the number of tourists to 1 million.

The agreement includes the development of air travel, advertising campaigns, and cultural events, which should make travel between countries even more accessible and popular.

Mehmet Nuri Ersoy emphasized that Uzbekistan, with its rich historical and cultural heritage, is one of the world's key tourist destinations. He noted the uniqueness of such cities as Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva, as well as the importance of Uzbek cuisine, craftsmanship, and hospitality in attracting foreign tourists.

One of the central points of the agreement was the development of air communication. According to Ersoy, there has been a significant increase in air travel between the countries in recent years, and the new protocol aims to continue this trend. It is planned to expand the route network, include new destinations, and actively use charter flights to increase passenger traffic.

Uzbekistan's Minister Aziz Abduhakimov, in turn, noted that Turkey is one of the republic's main tourism partners. Currently, more than 250 thousand tourists from Uzbekistan visit Turkey annually, and more than 150 thousand tourists from Turkey visit Uzbekistan. The new agreement should help double these figures.

Following the signing of the protocol, the ministers expressed confidence that cooperation in the field of tourism will become a driver for the development of bilateral relations and will contribute to the growth of tourist flow in the coming years.
