Uzbekistan’s young judokas made an impressive start at the Asian Junior Judo Championships, winning 12 medals on the opening day and moving into the group of tournament leaders. The result highlights the team’s strong preparation and its ambitions for overall success.

On the first day of competition, Uzbekistan claimed six gold, two silver and four bronze medals. The new Asian champions are Akbar Sharifov (-50 kg), Davlatbek Akhrorov (-60 kg), Akromjon Karimov (-66 kg), Iroda Sirojiddinova (-40 kg), Dilafruz Boltaboyeva (-44 kg) and Charos Hikmatova (-48 kg).

Silver medals were won by Bobur Yusupov (-55 kg) and Alina Kolyucheva (-44 kg). Bronze medals went to Mamurjon Abduvakhobov (-50 kg), Abubakr Sattorov (-60 kg), Mohinur Olloberganova (-48 kg) and Kumushbibi Ergasheva (-52 kg).

The strong opening performance placed Uzbekistan among the championship leaders after the first day of competition. The national team will now look to add more medals as the tournament continues.
