The eighth International NEW SILK WAY Business Forum has opened in Astana as part of Kazakhstan Transport Week. A key focus is the digital transformation of transport, including the use of artificial intelligence and the development of interoperable logistics systems.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held an open dialogue with investors and entrepreneurs regarding the acceleration of the New Tashkent construction project.

The program of the working visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Turkmenistan has concluded.

Uzbekistan presented its experience in improving legislation and strengthening parliamentary oversight of the implementation of state policy at the 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. At the same time, head of Uzbekistan’s parliamentary delegation Tanzila Narbayeva held talks with the leaders of the parliaments of Tanzania and Belarus on expanding bilateral cooperation.

The VII International Scientific and Practical Conference was held at the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute. As part of the event, Oybek Dusmatov Murotjonovich, founder of Group Asia Pharm and the Orzax joint venture and chairman of the Pharm Club Association, was awarded the title of Honorary Professor of the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute.

Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Presidential Administration, visited Tashkent University of Architecture and Civil Engineering to review its activities. Around 10,000 students are currently studying at the university across four fields.

Uzbekistan is forming a special working group under the Presidential Administration to develop a nationwide concept for a strategy on human capital development and lifelong education. The group will be led on a voluntary basis by entrepreneur Zafar Khashimov, founder of the Korzinka supermarket chain.

The new Porsche Cayenne Electric was presented at Porsche Centre Tashkent, opening a new electric chapter in the history of the legendary model.

The second Russian art festival “World of Arts” opened in Tashkent on October 1. The programme began with the exhibition “More Than Life” featuring works by artist and sculptor Zurab Tsereteli, followed by the “Opera Masterpieces” gala concert at the Alisher Navoi State Academic Bolshoi Theatre.

Uzbekistan’s higher education institutions will move towards developing national education programmes based on advanced international standards. At the same time, the dual education system will be expanded: from 2027 it will operate at 75 universities, and from 2028 at all higher education institutions.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with members of Uzbekistan’s national chess and para-chess teams, their relatives, mentors and coaches.

Dilshoda Bakhronova and Zulfizar Mutalimova were among the winners of Uzbekistan’s republican Kelajak Muhandislari engineering contest. Another participant, Zilola Jalolova, won the special Best Woman Engineer category.

Uzbekistan’s National Agency for Social Protection will provide comprehensive assistance to the family of a five-year-old girl who was subjected to sexual violence in Namangan region. The family will be relocated to another city, where it will receive housing, rehabilitation and social support.

The V Samarkand Human Rights Forum will take place in Tashkent and Samarkand on September 28–29. Representatives of international organizations, human rights institutions, government bodies, academia and civil society from different countries are expected to participate.

Uzbekistan and China have agreed to expand cooperation in international transport, civil aviation and logistics. Transport ministers Ilhom Makhkamov and Liu Wei discussed increasing the number of flights and the volume of road freight between the two countries.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired a meeting on the socio-economic development of Andijan Region, support for entrepreneurship and measures to raise household incomes. For 2027, the region has been tasked with achieving economic growth of at least 10%, attracting $5 billion in investment and increasing exports to $1.5 billion.

Continuing his visit to the Andijan region, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected the operations of the "Sokin Savdo Servis" poultry cluster in the Balykchi district.

Uzbekistan will take part in the CIS-SCO Counter-Terrorism Forum, which will be held in Minsk on October 7–8, 2026. The forum will combine two international conferences with joint counter-terrorism exercises involving the competent authorities of CIS and SCO member states.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a project for the manufacture of equipment for small hydropower plants, currently being implemented in the Andijan district.

Uzbekistan’s customs authorities are expanding electronic data exchange with foreign countries to detect potential violations before goods reach the border. The system automatically compares export and import declaration data and generates risk alerts when discrepancies are identified.
