From January to July 2025, the legal taxi market in Uzbekistan generated over 5 trillion soums, with nearly 262 million trips recorded. Cobalt was the most used car model, while most drivers earned less than 5 million soums per year.

According to the National Tax Committee, the “white” taxi sector in Uzbekistan saw over 262.2 million trips in the first seven months of 2025, with a turnover exceeding 5 trillion soums.

The number of registered aggregators grew to 215 (compared to 155 in 2024).

Cash payments accounted for 76.3% (3.6 trillion soums), while non-cash made up 27.8% (1.4 trillion). The average fare rose to over 19,000 soums (vs. 18,456 in 2024).

Roughly 457,300 self-employed drivers are engaged through aggregators:

56.3% are aged 30–50

36.3% under 30

7% over 50

3,480 are women

Only 0.4% of drivers (1,830 people) earned over 100 million soums this year. More than half earned under 5 million. Just 6.5% drive as a full-time job, most do it part-time.

Only 1.8% of the fleet consists of electric cars. Over 27.7% of vehicles are more than 10 years old. Most are between 1–5 years.

In total, aggregators paid 98.8 billion soums in taxes, of which 55.4 billion was VAT.
