A Council for Tax Disputes will be established in Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a PQ-223 resolution "On measures to improve the mechanisms for pre-trial settlement of tax disputes." The new document aims to reduce the time and costs entrepreneurs face when challenging tax authorities' decisions.

A Council for Tax Disputes will be established in Uzbekistan
According to the decree, an Expert Council on Tax Disputes is being established under the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan. It will include specialists in the fields of taxation, economics, finance, and law.

What the advice will do:

consider entrepreneurs' appeals regarding tax disputes (except for criminal cases and those already submitted to court);

to issue expert opinions;

send decisions to the relevant authorities with mandatory notification of the applicant.

Work format:
The council meetings will be held at least twice a month.

The new structure will allow businesses to obtain an objective and qualified opinion on disputed situations without going to court, and will become an additional support measure for entrepreneurs.
