Uzbekistan
According to the National Statistics Committee, Tashkent Metro transported 145.4 million passengers from January to June 2025 — a 10.8% increase (14.2 million more passengers) compared to the same period in 2024.
Over the past five years, the metro’s ridership has seen nearly a sevenfold increase. Here’s how the numbers have grown:
2020 – 38.8 million passengers,
2021 – 101.8 million,
2022 – 136.7 million,
2023 – 172.0 million,
2024 – 270.3 million.
This growth is largely attributed to the expansion of metro lines and increasing public preference for efficient urban transport. Currently, Tashkent Metro operates four lines covering 50 stations across the city.
