National Football Center – Forge of Talents and Victories
Uzbekistan
The National Football Center has been inaugurated in Yukorichirchik district, designed to train Uzbekistan’s national teams and future football stars. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev stressed that football is the country’s most popular sport and its development will remain a key priority.
On August 18, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the newly built National Football Center in Yukorichirchik district and reviewed its facilities.
Two years ago, the President proposed establishing a modern football complex in this area. In November 2023, a decree on developing football infrastructure was adopted, and today the new center has become a cornerstone of Uzbekistan’s football system.
The center can simultaneously host training camps for six national teams. It includes stadiums, educational buildings, gyms, a hotel, a beach football field, an indoor futsal arena, a swimming pool, and a rehabilitation department.
The complex comprises four specialized structures:
Equipped with advanced foreign technology, the center also involves experts from Argentina, Hungary, and Croatia. A VAR center has been established as well. The academy focuses on identifying and nurturing young talents while training coaches, referees, analysts, and football managers.
The President emphasized that football is Uzbekistan’s most popular sport and has entered a new stage of development. In recent years, the system has been transformed from children’s clubs and schools to academies, professional clubs, and national championships. Results are already evident: the national team qualified for the World Cup finals for the first time in history, while the U-17 squad became Asian champions and secured a place in the World Cup.
Meeting with the young champions, Mirziyoyev said:
“You proved to the whole world that Uzbekistan’s new generation is determined and proud. From now on, football will receive even stronger support. You are the joy of the President and the trust of the people.”
The players expressed gratitude for the conditions created and promised to justify the nation’s trust.
