The Head of State warmly congratulated those present on the 35th anniversary of the state independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan. &ldquo;Thirty-five years is a short period by historical standards. However, it would be no exaggeration to say that, in terms of their scale, achievements, and results, the past years have been equivalent to an entire century,&rdquo; the President noted. As the he emphasized, the true author of these transformations is our hardworking and noble people. The true value of independence is reflected in the productive work of our compatriots &ndash; farmers and dehkans who create prosperity and well-being in rural communities, teachers and mentors who educate and nurture the younger generation, doctors who save lives, scientists working on new ideas and discoveries, and industrialists and entrepreneurs establishing modern enterprises. The President also highlighted the contributions of builders and architects who transform our cities and villages; representatives of culture, the arts, and sports; civil servants who work to ensure that the essence and tangible results of reforms reach every mahalla and every family; members of the older generation and mahalla activists who unite communities around noble goals; as well as military personnel and law enforcement officers who safeguard peace and stability in the country. Over the past ten years, Uzbekistan has attracted more than $160 billion in foreign investment, while the economy has grown more than 2.5-fold. This year, the country aims to increase its gross domestic product to more than $180 billion. A total of 5.7 million permanent jobs have been created across industry, services, and agriculture. With the participation of the state and the private sector, schools with capacity for 1.5 million students, preschool institutions for 342,000 children, and hospitals with 62,000 beds have been built. Some 83,000 kilometers of public and local roads have been constructed and repaired. Eight million people have gained access to centralized drinking water for the first time, while water supply has been improved for another 11.5 million. Over the past ten years, 650,000 families have received new housing. &ldquo;The greatest achievement of the New Uzbekistan is the change in people&rsquo;s lives, citizens confident in their own abilities, and a society that feels a sense of involvement in the country&rsquo;s future,&rdquo; the President noted. In recognition of their significant contribution to these noble transformations, 558 dedicated compatriots were honored with high state awards on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of independence. &ldquo;I am well aware of the dedication and hard work each of you has demonstrated, your achievements, and your valuable contribution to the development of our country,&rdquo; the President said. Among the award recipients are Rustam Sultonov, who for many years contributed to the development of the Khorezm region and is today a leader among members of the older generation, and labor veteran Abdusattor Kurbonov, who devoted his life to cultivating desert lands and developing agriculture in the Surkhandarya region. The award of the honorary title &ldquo;Honored Worker of Industry&rdquo; to Gulomjon Turonov, a longtime steelworker at the Bekabad Metallurgical Plant, was a significant recognition of the hard work of the entire team of metallurgists. The work of Ilkhom Ziyovuddinov from Namangan, who has achieved outstanding results in cotton and grain production and established his own school of practice, was also recognized, along with that of Jamila Khudoyberdieva from Bukhara, who consistently achieves high yields of silkworm cocoons; Esenbay Aytimuratov from Karakalpakstan, who is introducing advanced technologies in livestock farming and developing pedigree breeding; and Aslankul Karimkulov, an irrigation specialist from Samarkand who is contributing to reducing water losses and introducing energy-saving systems. The President noted that the hard work and valor of every person honored with a state award deserve special recognition. The parties also considered investment initiatives involving deep wheat processing, the production of higher-value-added goods and their entry into third-country markets. Bekzod Mamatkulov invited Yeraly Tugzhanov to visit the Jizzakh region and become familiar with BMB HOLDING&rsquo;s enterprises. In turn, the ambassador invited a BMB HOLDING working group to visit Kazakhstan to study the country&rsquo;s investment potential and identify new areas for business cooperation. Centrum Holding founder and CEO Abdulaziz Abdurahmanov disclosed the plans in an interview with O&rsquo;zbekiston 24. According to him, the group currently operates nearly 30 aircraft, divided roughly equally between cargo carrier My Freighter and passenger airline Centrum Air. The holding plans to increase its fleet to 40 aircraft by the end of 2026, 65 in 2027 and 100 by the end of 2029. The company has already signed contracts covering more than 50 aircraft. Centrum Holding also expects exports to reach $1 billion this year, taking into account the potential of its land and air logistics operations. Abdurahmanov said the group is currently valued at approximately $2 billion. The company had previously announced plans to enter public markets within one to two years, with the London Stock Exchange under consideration as its primary listing venue. In February, investment firm Oppenheimer and Citibank signed an agreement to support the planned IPO. At the time, the companies said the offering could raise around $600 million through the sale of approximately 30% of the shares at a valuation of $2 billion. Centrum Holding was established in 2019 as a cargo aviation operator. The group now includes cargo and passenger airlines, a tourism business, logistics centers, a railway fleet, terminals and port infrastructure. Its revenue reached $1 billion in 2025, while its workforce stood at around 5,000 employees. Uzbekistan-based private logistics group Centrum Holding plans to launch an initial public offering in the first quarter of 2027. The company also aims to raise exports to $1 billion by the end of 2026 while continuing a major expansion of its aircraft fleet.

The project is being organized by the Art and Culture Development Foundation of Uzbekistan in partnership with the Museum of Islamic Art. It will be the first international exhibition in three decades to present the history of Uzbekistan through the formation of its contemporary cultural identity. The exhibition will bring together objects from leading museums and cultural institutions in Qatar and Uzbekistan. Highlights include the renowned Afrasiab mural, the Katta Langar Quran, rare manuscripts from the Institute of Oriental Studies, Bukhara ceramics, 19th&ndash;20th century national costumes, jewelry, silk textiles and works of traditional craftsmanship. The exhibition is structured around four thematic sections covering the ancient history of the region, architectural heritage, the intellectual achievements of Islamic civilization and the development of traditional crafts. Particular attention is given to Uzbekistan&rsquo;s historical role as a major center of science, culture and artistic production in the Islamic world, as well as to the legacy of the Samanid and Timurid eras. Historical heritage is presented alongside contemporary cultural development, highlighting the continuity of Uzbekistan&rsquo;s traditions in decorative arts, textiles and jewelry-making. The public program will feature lectures, workshops, demonstrations of traditional crafts and presentations on ikat art and silk production. From September 3 to 16, artist Davlat Toshev will lead a series of workshops on Eastern miniature painting and the &ldquo;Abru-Bahor&rdquo; technique for local artists and exhibition visitors as part of an artist residency program. Advance registration will be required. Established in 2017, the Art and Culture Development Foundation of Uzbekistan works to preserve and promote the country&rsquo;s cultural heritage. The Foundation has implemented international projects in more than 17 countries and collaborated with more than 40 international cultural institutions. The Museum of Islamic Art in Doha was established in 2008. The “Uzbekistan: Heritage in Motion” exhibition will open at the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha on September 3, 2026, presenting the history and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan. The exhibition will trace the country’s heritage from the period preceding the spread of Islam in Central Asia to the present day and will remain open through November 28.
