Tokayev Awards NVIDIA President Jensen Huang Kazakhstan’s Order of Dostyk, First Class

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with NVIDIA co-founder and President Jensen Huang to discuss artificial intelligence development and expanded technological cooperation. At the end of the meeting, Tokayev awarded Huang the Order of Dostyk, First Class, in recognition of his contribution to advancing AI in Kazakhstan.
The meeting took place at the Akorda presidential residence. Tokayev stressed the importance of Huang’s visit in strengthening cooperation with NVIDIA and thanked him for his personal contribution to Kazakhstan’s domestic AI ecosystem.
“This visit is extremely important in terms of giving serious impulse to our mutual ties. I would like to express my gratitude personally to you for your contribution to strengthening our partnership and for what you are doing for Kazakhstan,” the president said.
Tokayev identified digitalisation and artificial intelligence as national priorities and noted that 2026 had been declared the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence in Kazakhstan. He also welcomed NVIDIA’s partnership with Higgsfield, describing the company as part of the country’s domestic technology ecosystem.
Huang praised Kazakhstan’s strategic ambition to become an AI nation committed to developing and widely adopting artificial intelligence. He also proposed positioning the country as a global hub for Physical AI, which combines AI with physical systems and devices.
“This new industry requires energy at its foundation, it also requires a population dedicated to science, math and technology. You have richness in both,” Huang said.
The NVIDIA president also highlighted significant progress in cooperation with Kazakhstan over the past year. The company is developing partnerships with local businesses, including Firebird AI KZ Ltd and Kazakhtelecom, while supporting Higgsfield, Kazakhstan’s first technology unicorn and an increasingly prominent participant in the global technology ecosystem.
Huang expressed pride in the results achieved jointly and said the partnership was only at the beginning of a long journey. The Order of Dostyk, First Class, recognised his contribution to the development of artificial intelligence in Kazakhstan.
