Construction Begins on $170 Million Electric Bus Plant in Yazyavan

A $170 million electric bus manufacturing project has been launched in Yazyavan district of the Fergana Region in partnership with China’s Xiang Yang Tenglong Automobile and GIG Investments. The plant is scheduled to begin operations in December 2027.
The facility will be built on a 10-hectare site within a special industrial zone in the Ijodkor mahalla. The first phase will focus on electric bus production, while the project’s next stage is expected to include electric trucks.
The plant will have an annual production capacity of 700 electric buses. The vehicles will be supplied to the domestic Uzbek market and exported to foreign markets.
The launch ceremony was attended by Fergana Region Governor Khairullo Bozorov, entrepreneurs and investors, representatives of the public and local veterans.
Speaking at the event, the regional governor highlighted the importance of expanding the use of alternative energy sources and developing modern, environmentally friendly transport. The Yazyavan project was presented as one of the practical initiatives in this area.
The project is expected to strengthen Fergana Region’s industrial capacity and create new jobs.
The event concluded with a foundation stone-laying ceremony, marking the start of construction works.
