On July 22, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Jizzakh region to inspect the progress of the Zaamin Technopark — a special industrial zone initiated by the President on June 27, 2024.

First Enterprise Launched at Zaamin Technopark
Spanning 400 hectares, the park is set to host 31 investment projects worth a total of $1.2 billion, in cooperation with Chinese investors. Key infrastructure has already been built, and the first production facility has started operations.

The debut enterprise — a $10 million concrete products plant by Xinjiang Honglin Tiandi — has begun operations, creating 60 jobs.

A second major project is nearing completion: a Midea-branded household appliance factory with an annual capacity of 300,000 units and an investment of $42 million. It will provide 150 additional jobs.

In total, 9 projects are included in the first phase of the technopark. Construction is ongoing on 7 more projects worth around $300 million, involving the production of construction materials, chemicals, metal structures, and electrical goods, along with the establishment of logistics and training centers.

Once fully operational, the technopark is expected to produce goods worth 5 trillion Uzbek soums annually, introduce 15 new product types, and generate up to $70 million in exports. Most importantly, over 5,000 new jobs will be created.

The President instructed officials to accelerate project implementation, offer full support to investors, and focus on training qualified professionals and youth employment.
