The leaders of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan discussed the implementation of the agreements

On July 24, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a phone conversation with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. The leaders discussed the implementation of recent agreements and further steps to deepen their strategic partnership.
During the call, President Ilham Aliyev warmly congratulated Shavkat Mirziyoyev on his birthday, wishing him strong health, prosperity, and continued success in leading Uzbekistan’s development.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the outcomes of the Uzbek President’s recent state visit to Azerbaijan. It was noted that the agreements reached — including those from the second meeting of the High-Level Interstate Council — are contributing to stronger bilateral ties.
Since the beginning of the year, trade turnover between the two countries has grown by 30%. Work is underway on joint projects, including the establishment of an industrial zone, a logistics company, and a strategic product-sharing agreement in the oil and gas sector.
Preparations are also in progress for major events marking the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
