Uzbekistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov received Beibut Atamkulov, Kazakhstan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, who is concluding his diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan, and Rashad Mammadov, Azerbaijan's newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, who presented copies of his credentials.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Atamkulov's tenure coincided with a significant period in Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan relations. During his mission, the two countries signed the Treaty on Allied Relations on 22 December 2022. The Uzbek side expressed appreciation for his personal contribution to strengthening friendship, good-neighborly ties and allied cooperation. Earlier, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev awarded the ambassador the Dustlik Order in recognition of his service.

During a separate meeting, Saidov accepted copies of the credentials of Azerbaijan's new ambassador, Rashad Mammadov. The parties reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining an active political dialogue, expanding trade, investment and economic cooperation, and advancing joint transport and logistics projects. The Foreign Ministry expressed confidence that the ambassador's diplomatic experience would further strengthen the allied partnership between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
