Uzbekistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov received the credentials of Alkali Fanka Conteh, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of The Gambia to Uzbekistan. During the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, with particular emphasis on expanding trade and economic cooperation.

The Uzbek side noted that it attaches special importance to developing mutually beneficial partnerships with African countries and sees significant untapped potential in relations with The Gambia.

The discussions focused on opportunities to deepen practical cooperation, with Uzbekistan expressing confidence that the new ambassador's diplomatic mission would help translate bilateral ties into concrete initiatives.

On the same day, Saidov also received the credentials of Sara Martins, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Portugal to Uzbekistan. The sides reaffirmed their commitment to implementing the agreements reached during the Uzbek delegation's visit to Lisbon in April, while highlighting economic diplomacy and interregional cooperation as key priorities.
