Mirziyoyev and Putin Discuss Trade, Investment, and Diplomacy

On August 8, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Russia Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation.
The two leaders discussed pressing issues on the bilateral and international agenda. Vladimir Putin informed Mirziyoyev about the results of his August 6 talks in Moscow with Steven Witkoff, the Special Envoy of the US President.
Special attention was given to further strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Russia, including the implementation of previously reached high-level agreements.
The presidents agreed on coordinated measures to boost mutual trade and investment, accelerate joint projects in priority sectors of the economy, and continue active business and humanitarian exchanges at the regional level.
They also reviewed the schedule of upcoming meetings and events between the two countries.
