An investigation has begun in London into a fire that broke out at night in the home of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. The incident occurred around 1:00 AM local time on May 13th. The house, located in the Kentish Town area, belongs to Starmer and was used as a family dwelling until his election. Since July 2024, having become head of government, the Prime Minister has been living on Downing Street, renting this house. According to police, no one was injured, however, damage to the entrance door was recorded.

London police consider the incident suspicious. Anti-terrorism unit officers are involved in the investigation. An investigative team is working at the scene, the area is cordoned off.

Notably, this same house hosted protests last year - three Palestinian activists were arrested after displaying a banner with red handprints.

Prime Minister's press secretary, Dave Pares, thanked the emergency services for their prompt work, emphasizing that the investigation is ongoing and there will be no further comments.
