Tajikistan is a reliable strategic partner and ally of Uzbekistan. It was emphasized that our countries share common goals, views, and aspirations, and that bilateral relations are demonstrating dynamic development in the political, economic, and humanitarian spheres. The regular meetings at the parliamentary and government levels, between regional leaders, and between intellectuals were noted with satisfaction. Last year, trade turnover between the countries reached almost one billion dollars. Industrial cooperation is rapidly developing &ndash; there are currently over 500 joint ventures operating in our country. Transportation cooperation is expanding. Ten flights a week operate between the capitals. The President of Uzbekistan reported on the significant preparatory work completed for the current summit. The meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission, forums of regions, rectors, scientists, youth, think tanks, Days of Tajik Culture and Cinema, and a number of other important events were successfully held. During the fruitful negotiations held today and the first meeting of the Interstate Council, a wide range of issues were discussed, and priorities and targets for developing a multifaceted partnership were identified. The importance of continuing active contacts at all levels and deepening dialogue within international and regional structures, including the Consultative Meetings and &quot;Central Asia Plus&quot; formats, was emphasized. Particular attention was paid to developing the economic dimension of cooperation. The governments of the two countries have been instructed to take practical measures to increase trade turnover to two billion dollars based on a separate program. To this end, the creation of the Oybek-Fotekhobod trade zone will be accelerated, and a Cooperation Program will be implemented with two billion dollar initiatives in energy, geology, metallurgy, textiles, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and other sectors. The parties agreed to actively utilize the potential of the Joint Investment Company to advance these projects. Particular attention has been paid to transport and transit. An agreement was signed on the implementation of an electronic permitting system for cargo transportation, and agreements were reached on expanding air and rail service and increasing capacity at border crossings. The main goal of all these coordinated measures is to create favorable conditions for businesses and citizens, as well as to harness the potential of the regions as drivers for expanding trade and economic partnerships. One important area of interaction is cooperation in the water and energy sectors. A commitment to jointly promote major green energy projects and coordinate water distribution, automation, and digitalization of water bodies was confirmed. Cultural and humanitarian ties remain a reliable bridge of friendship between peoples. As part of this cooperation, a film about the friendship between Abdurrahman Jami and Alisher Navoi was produced, and a street in New Tashkent was named after the city of Dushanbe. An intention to continue active exchanges in education, tourism, and youth, based on an annual calendar, was announced. A comprehensive program of cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere will be developed to support the large Uzbek and Tajik diasporas in the two countries, promote the widespread development of cultural centers, and preserve native languages, traditions, and customs. In preparation for the visit, a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, an industrial exhibition, and forums of regions, rectors, scientists, youth, and think tanks were successfully held. During the meeting, the parties discussed in detail new areas of cooperation, analyzed the exploitation of potential opportunities, and adopted a number of important decisions aimed at significantly strengthening mutually beneficial Uzbek-Tajik cooperation. Particular attention was paid to measures to increase mutual trade, stimulate industrial cooperation, strengthen transport connectivity, and enhance water and energy security. Last year, trade turnover reached almost $1 billion, primarily due to mutual supplies of finished goods. Numerous cooperation projects are being successfully implemented in industry, construction, agriculture, textiles, electrical engineering, pharmaceuticals, and many other sectors. Today, the capitals of the two countries are connected by air, bus, and rail services. Freight traffic volumes are growing dynamically. Potential for increasing mutual trade to $2 billion by 2030 was discussed. This will be facilitated by agreements to expedite the creation of the Oybek-Fotekhobod border trade center, implement digital product certification and E-Permit permit exchange systems, and modernize border checkpoints. Furthermore, a separate Industrial Cooperation program is being adopted, including projects in mining, energy, agriculture, electrical engineering, light industry, construction, and other sectors. The importance of expanding the capital base of the joint Investment Company to support promising projects was noted. New joint projects in the two countries will also be launched today. Prospects for cooperation in energy, water management, transport, and many other areas were thoroughly discussed and outlined. The leaders agreed to give further impetus to interregional ties and encourage humanitarian, educational, and scientific exchanges. Given the presence of large diasporas, it was proposed to adopt a five-year action plan to strengthen cultural and humanitarian ties. The heads of state exchanged views on pressing regional and international policy issues. The importance of continuing close dialogue and mutual support within multilateral structures and regional formats in Central Asia was noted. An agreement was reached to intensify cooperation in the security sphere. The meeting heard reports from the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Commission &ndash; the prime ministers of the two countries &ndash; on key areas of cooperation.
