Uktam Umurzakov — a symbol of knowledge and devotion
Born on August 20, 1952, Uktam Pardaevich began his career at the very institute he graduated from and remained loyal to it until the end of his life. He rose through the ranks — from junior researcher to rector — and under his leadership, the institute became one of the nation’s leading universities.

Throughout his academic and teaching career, he authored over 120 scientific and methodological works and more than 50 textbooks and monographs. He initiated the CONMECHYDRO international conferences, opening the doors of the global scientific arena to hundreds of young researchers. He supervised more than 20 doctoral and PhD candidates and mentored hundreds of students. As a mentor, he balanced high standards with deep care, treating each student as his own child.

Today, we remember Uktam Umurzakov with profound respect and gratitude. He lives on in our hearts not only as a dedicated scholar and visionary leader, but also as a humble, wise person and loving father. His name and scientific legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
