Over the past decade, 5.7 million permanent jobs have been created in industry, services and agriculture. With participation from the public and private sectors, modern schools with capacity for 1.2 million students, kindergartens for 342,000 children and hospitals with 62,000 beds have been commissioned. During the same period, 83,000 kilometers of internal public roads were built and renovated. Centralized water supply systems provided drinking water to 8 million people in the regions, while water services were improved for another 11.5 million people. Over the past decade, 650,000 families received new modern housing. Over the past ten years, large-scale reforms have been implemented in Uzbekistan to advance human interests and improve the well-being of the population. Broad opportunities have been created for the development of entrepreneurship, while extensive work has been carried out to diversify the economy, develop competitive industries, and improve infrastructure in remote areas and rural communities. Support for education, healthcare, and culture has reached a new level. &ldquo;The last ten years are forever inscribed in the history of our country as a period that laid the foundation for a new stage of national revival &ndash; the Third Renaissance,&rdquo; the President noted. During this period, the economy has grown more than 2.5-fold. The country has attracted $160 billion in foreign investment, 2,163 major industrial projects worth a total of $76 billion have been commissioned, and around 6 million people have secured permanent employment. Today, numerous projects are being implemented in Uzbekistan with the participation of leading global companies, major investors, and international financial institutions. As investment volumes grow, the country&rsquo;s industrial landscape is also undergoing a fundamental transformation. &ldquo;We are transitioning from a country focused on exporting raw materials to an economy capable of bringing finished products to global markets through deep processing of raw materials. Most importantly, alongside new enterprises, new technologies, new professions, and highly skilled jobs are emerging,&rdquo; the Head of State noted. This year alone, 56 major modern industrial and service facilities with a total value of $1.7 billion have been commissioned, creating 8,800 high-income jobs. As part of today&rsquo;s ceremony, 72 major industrial and service projects and 91 social facilities with a total value of about 50 trillion soums were commissioned across the country. Their commissioning represents a fitting gift for Independence Day.&nbsp; The new projects will create 15,000 jobs and generate an additional 1 trillion soums in annual budget revenues. The investment projects cover such important sectors as energy, agriculture and the food industry, metallurgy, automotive manufacturing, electrical engineering, building materials, mining, textiles, and light industry. In particular, generating facilities with a total capacity of 1,573 megawatts have been commissioned in Sirdaryo region, while a 200-megawatt wind power plant and a 100-megawatt energy storage system have been put into operation in the Republic of Karakalpakstan. New energy projects in Navoi region will generate 657 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually. The projects also include new production facilities that will significantly increase the country&rsquo;s export potential. Textile, knitwear, and carpet manufacturing enterprises commissioned in Andijan, Namangan, and Jizzakh regions will generate millions of dollars in exports. New metallurgical enterprises established in Samarkand and Tashkent regions will also contribute to expanding industrial cooperation and import substitution. The President emphasized that it would be wrong to assess today&rsquo;s projects solely in terms of investment and export indicators. Ahead of the new academic year, numerous modern social facilities are also being commissioned. These include 36 kindergartens, 43 schools, 7 higher education institutions, and 3 hospitals. Among them is the modern complex of New Uzbekistan University, built to international standards on a 10-hectare site in New Tashkent. The complex provides learning facilities for 7,000 students. In cooperation with Harvard University, the university has launched the School of Rectors. Together with the University of Oxford, an educational hub will be established for the professional development of civil servants. The Institute of Artificial Intelligence will begin operating on October 1. In addition, the new National Library, covering an area of 30,000 square meters and comprising five floors, features state-of-the-art equipment. It can accommodate up to 1,500 readers at a time. The library includes more than 28 study rooms and halls, as well as conference halls of various capacities. Its collection comprises more than 200,000 books. In the city of Karshi, modern buildings and facilities for the University of Economics and Pedagogy have been constructed at a total cost of 400 billion soums. The university will educate 3,000 students, while 700 people will be provided with income-generating employment. A new modern medical facility in Fergana region has the capacity to treat 60,000 patients and screen 30,000 women annually. A third qualifying document is a ticket to the 2026 Formula 1 event in Baku, including an electronic ticket, or a document confirming its purchase. This means eligible international spectators can obtain their visas directly at Azerbaijan&rsquo;s international airports. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed an order simplifying visa procedures for foreign nationals and stateless persons travelling to the country in connection with the 2026 Formula 1 races in Baku. The simplified procedure will apply from August 25 through September 30, 2026, allowing eligible visitors to obtain visas at Azerbaijan’s international airports upon presenting one of the required documents.
