A major artificial intelligence forum for the Global South has opened in India’s capital, New Delhi. Over five days, participants will discuss how AI technologies can accelerate development across Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
The India AI Impact summit is taking place from February 16 to 20, bringing together world leaders, representatives of international organizations, technology companies, and experts.
Key discussions focus on the role of AI in public governance, sustainable development, and innovation. Participants are also presenting projects already being implemented in countries across Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Oceania.
Organizers say such initiatives demonstrate the potential of locally developed AI solutions and their impact on improving quality of life in developing nations.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres and the UN Secretary-General’s Envoy on Technology, Amandeep Gill, are among the participants.
