The Uzbek school of wrestling has once again reaffirmed its status as the strongest on the continent. At the ongoing Asian Championship, our compatriots demonstrated brilliant technique and a relentless will to win, adding both gold and bronze medals to the national team's tally.
The hero of the day was Alisher Ganiev. In a tense final match, he faced Se Un Ri, a representative of the DPRK. Displaying tactical superiority, Ganiev secured a confident victory and claimed the title of Asian Champion.
This success was further bolstered by Shakhzod Kuchkorov. In the bout for third place, he contended with the highly-ranked Japanese wrestler Taishi Narikuni. Kuchkorov successfully seized the initiative to defeat his opponent, earning the bronze medal of the tournament.
The National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan notes that these results are a clear indicator of the high level of preparation among the athletes for the upcoming international competitions.
