Amazon Leo to Erase Digital Borders in Uzbekistan’s Regions
Technology
The signing of a large-scale agreement between the American corporation Amazon Leo and the joint venture UZ-SAT LLC initiates a new era in the development of the domestic telecommunications infrastructure and guarantees ubiquitous access to advanced digital services. The strategic document, finalized on the sidelines of the fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum (TIIF 2026), aims to deploy high-speed broadband satellite internet services across the entire territory of the republic. This partnership is set to become a key driver for the growth of the country's digital economy.
The uniqueness of the project lies in eliminating the technological divide between major metropolitan areas and remote, hard-to-reach settlements where traditional wired or mobile networks are completely unavailable. The Amazon Leo technological ecosystem relies on a massive orbital constellation comprising more than 3,000 spacecraft. The satellites are linked by laser optical communication lines and integrated into a single network with ground gateway stations and fiber-optic backbones. To establish terminal connections for users in Uzbekistan, high-performance customer equipment in three modifications—Nano, Pro, and Ultra—will be utilized, capable of ensuring a stable data flow at any geographical point.
