Azerbaijan and Congo reviewed the possibilities of cooperation in oil and oil products trading, Report informs with reference to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).

A meeting between SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf and François Joly, the personal representative of the Congolese President for strategic and international affairs, took place on 6 March to discuss the potential cooperation in the oil and gas industry between Azerbaijan and Congo.

The meeting covered various aspects of the oil and gas sector, such as the global energy projects that Azerbaijan has initiated or participated in, the operations of SOCAR in different countries, and the joint ventures with other partners. The participants also discussed the development of human capital and other matters of common interest.

It should be noted that SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic) was established on 13 September 1992. It is a state oil company of the Azerbaijan Republic engaged in production, transportation and processing of oil and gas. The company includes production and sale of oil products, as well as investments in energy projects inside and outside the country. SOCAR plays a key role in the development of Azerbaijan's energy sector and is an important player in the global energy market.
