Bakhtiyor Saidov Discusses Accelerating JICA Projects Through 2030

Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov held talks with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) President Akihiko Tanaka in Tokyo on September 18. The sides discussed accelerating the implementation of projects under the Cooperation Programme through 2030.
The meeting focused on further developing practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and JICA. The sides discussed the implementation of existing initiatives as well as opportunities to expand cooperation in new areas.
They also exchanged views on expanding cooperation in healthcare, private-sector support and education. These areas were among the key subjects discussed during the meeting.
“During the meeting in Tokyo with President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) H.E. Akihiko Tanaka, we discussed ways to accelerate the implementation of projects under the Cooperation Programme through 2030,” Bakhtiyor Saidov wrote on his Telegram channel.
The minister also highlighted the readiness to continue strengthening practical cooperation. “We also exchanged views on expanding cooperation in healthcare, support for the private sector and education. We stand ready to further enrich our practical cooperation with JICA through new projects and initiatives,” the foreign minister said.
