Economy
Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for the yuan to become a global reserve currency, emphasizing the need for a strong central bank and competitive financial institutions capable of attracting global capital and influencing world prices.
In an article published in the Communist Party’s Qiushi magazine, Xi noted that effective monetary policy and broad use of the yuan in international trade, investment, and financial markets are essential for its internationalization.
He stressed that this initiative is part of China’s long-term strategy to strengthen the yuan’s role on the global stage. The country aims not only to raise the prestige of its national currency but also to build financial infrastructure capable of competing with the world’s leading financial centers.
