The parties reviewed the preliminary results of ongoing efforts to transform major state-owned enterprises.

It was noted that the listing of shares of the National Investment Fund of Uzbekistan on the London and Tashkent stock exchanges marked the first international IPO in the country’s history. Nearly $700 million was raised, with demand exceeding supply by more than four times.

It was emphasized that the next phase involves the transformation of the companies within the Fund’s portfolio, which is expected to lead to greater public prosperity and improved reliability and quality of services. The importance of increasing citizen participation in future share offerings was also highlighted.

Additionally, the discussion covered the preparation of large companies for IPOs, the professional development of their management teams, and Franklin Templeton’s potential involvement in the Tashkent International Financial Centre.
