Yulia Navalnaya Ready to Run for President

Yulia Navalnaya, widow of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, has expressed her readiness to run for president if she can return to Russia. She made this statement in an interview with the BBC.
However, Navalnaya acknowledges that such a possibility is currently unlikely as long as Vladimir Putin remains in power, making her return to Russia uncertain.
In July 2024, shortly after her husband’s death, a Moscow court issued an arrest warrant for Navalnaya, accusing her of involvement in an extremist organization. By that time, she was already living abroad, and if she returns to Russia, her arrest is almost guaranteed.
Although Yulia was not involved in politics during her husband's life, after his death in prison, she vowed to carry on his work. She now leads a human rights organization, aiming to bring about change in the country.
