Elon Musk has become the first person in history with a net worth exceeding $800 billion, following the merger of SpaceX and xAI.
American entrepreneur Elon Musk made history as Forbes magazine valued his net worth at a record $852 billion. This milestone came after his SpaceX acquired xAI, Musk’s own artificial intelligence and social media company.
According to Forbes, the deal, which created a combined company worth $1.25 trillion, increased Musk’s net worth by $84 billion.
For comparison, in March 2020, his net worth was just $24.6 billion. By January 2021, he became the world’s richest person and has since crossed successive financial milestones: $200 and $300 billion in 2021, $400 billion in 2024, and $500–700 billion from October to December 2025.
Musk currently remains the world’s wealthiest individual and continues to expand the influence of his companies in the space and artificial intelligence sectors.
