Extensive Talks Held Between the Leaders of Uzbekistan and Kuwait

On February 17, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in the State of Kuwait on an official visit at the invitation of Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Sabah.
At Al-Kuwait International Airport, the Uzbek leader was welcomed by Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Sabah, Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Sabah, and other high-ranking officials. In honor of the visit, a guard of honor was lined up, national flags were raised, and anthems of both countries were played.
Later on February 17, a private meeting was held at the Al-Bayan Palace in Kuwait City, followed by negotiations with the participation of official delegations.
At the start of the discussion, Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed his gratitude to the Emir for the warm reception and sincerely congratulated him and the people of Kuwait on the upcoming national holidays.
The leaders discussed strengthening friendly and multifaceted partnership relations between Uzbekistan and Kuwait. President Mirziyoyev praised the implementation of Kuwait’s "Vision 2035" state program, which aligns with the long-term priorities of Uzbekistan's "New Uzbekistan" development strategy.
Both sides highlighted the growth in trade volume and mutual investments, as well as the successful first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and several significant business initiatives.
The two sides agreed to establish an Investment Platform, a Business Council, and open an Uzbekistan Trade House in Kuwait. Special attention was given to expanding cooperation with the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development.
It was also agreed to organize Culture and Tourism Weeks in Uzbekistan and Kuwait, fostering participation in art, music, cinema, education, and sports events.
Both sides reaffirmed their mutual support within international organizations such as the United Nations (UN), Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
Discussions also covered joint preparations for the "Central Asia – Gulf Cooperation Council" Summit, set to take place in Samarkand in May.
At the conclusion of the negotiations, the heads of state agreed to strengthen and expand their comprehensive partnership.
