FIFA Finds No Confirmed Match Manipulation at the 2026 World Cup

FIFA has found no confirmed cases of match-fixing following its review of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The assessment covered all 104 matches of the tournament as well as potential incidents related to betting and match manipulation.
According to SBC News, the Sports Integrity Monitoring Group reviewed every match and examined reports of possible irregularities. Although the Copenhagen Group operating under the Council of Europe had previously identified seven incidents that warranted further scrutiny, FIFA's review found no evidence confirming match-fixing.
As part of the monitoring process, 15 matches were placed under enhanced observation, while 12 additional incidents were assessed for potential integrity risks. These included the late dismissal of South Africa's Temba Zwane during the opening match against Mexico and betting activity on a draw in the Spain–Cape Verde fixture.
