Uzbek figure skaters Yekaterina Geynish and Dmitriy Chigirev secured their place in the 2026 Winter Olympics.
At the World Championships in Boston (USA), they took 10th place in the sports doubles competition, scoring 183.01 points. This result allowed them to secure an Olympic license and join the ranks of the world's best figure skaters to compete in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo.
For the Uzbek team, this was a historic event, as the country had not previously achieved significant results in pair skating at the Winter Olympics.
This success not only brought the country an Olympic license but also opened up the opportunity to compete for another ticket to the Games-2026. In September, Uzbek athletes will participate in a qualifying tournament in Beijing, where they will try to increase the country's representation at the main winter start of the quadrennial.
