From April 1, Uzbekistan Gas Stations Move to Cashless Payments
On December 10, 2025, the President of Uzbekistan signed a decree “On Additional Measures to Promote Cashless Payments and Reduce the Share of the Shadow Economy.” According to the decree, cash payments at gas stations will no longer be accepted starting April 1, 2026.

Sales of oil and gas products, as well as electric vehicle charging services, will be conducted exclusively through bank cards or electronic payment systems.

The decree also bans cash transactions for the purchase and sale of real estate and vehicles. The main goal of the document is to encourage the use of cashless payments and reduce the share of the shadow economy in the country.
