Houthis Claim “Large-Scale Operation” Against Saudi Military Targets

Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree said the group had carried out a “large-scale operation” targeting military facilities and infrastructure in Saudi Arabia. According to Saree, the attack was conducted in response to Saudi actions against Yemen.
Saree said dozens of ballistic missiles and drones were used in the operation. He identified the King Khalid air base in the Khamis Mushait area of southwestern Saudi Arabia as the main target.
According to the Houthi statement, the attacks targeted aircraft hangars, radar stations, runways and ammunition depots at the base.
Saree said the attacks would continue until what he described as “aggression against the Yemeni people” ends. He also said the Houthis would continue to follow the principles of “blockade for blockade” and “escalation in response to escalation.”
The statement came amid a continuing escalation between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia. The Houthis had previously claimed missile and drone attacks against targets in the kingdom’s south.
