In the last six months, about 1 tonne and 249,931 items were destroyed for non-compliance with phytosanitary requirements. Sabina Sadinova, press secretary of the Plant Quarantine and Protection Agency, reported.

According to her, 143 objections (notifications) were sent to 14 countries for non-compliance with phytosanitary requirements. 9,000 damaged imports were returned to the exporting countries.

This year, 519,000 hectares will be treated against harmful locusts and 493,000 hectares with chemicals. In 2023, 11 billion sums have been allocated from the state budget to combat the mulberry moth.
