Uzbekistan’s Kamilla Rakhimova has reached the third round of the US Open after defeating Spain’s Oksana Selekhmeteva in straight sets. Her next opponent will be world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus.

Rakhimova, ranked 92nd in the world, beat No. 93 Selekhmeteva 6-3, 6-0 in the second round. The match lasted one hour and five minutes.

Reaching the third round has already secured Rakhimova 130 ranking points and $290,000 in prize money. The WTA’s official 2026 US Open breakdown lists $290,000 as the prize for reaching the last 32.

Rakhimova will next face Sabalenka, the No. 1 seed. The Belarusian advanced to the third round with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Russian qualifier Polina Iatcenko. Sabalenka is the two-time defending US Open champion.

The upcoming match will be the third meeting between Rakhimova and Sabalenka. Sabalenka won both of their previous encounters.
