On the sidelines of the summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
At the beginning of the conversation, both sides noted with satisfaction the consistent development of their strategic partnership and multifaceted practical cooperation.
It was emphasized that, thanks to a productive high-level dialogue in recent years, bilateral relations have reached a qualitatively new stage of development. Currently, there is active partnership with Qatari companies in sectors such as energy, the chemical industry, food security, transport, construction, and others. Since the beginning of this year, the volume of realized investments has increased significantly.
Dynamically developing cultural and humanitarian ties are also contributing to bringing the peoples of the two countries closer together.
During the meeting, promising areas for bilateral cooperation were identified. In particular, a high-level delegation from Uzbekistan is scheduled to participate in the Doha Forum in December, which will also host meetings of the joint Intergovernmental Commission and the Business Council.
The leaders also exchanged views on current issues on the international and regional agenda.
