A Brazilian Supreme Court judge has lifted the ban on Elon Musk’s X social network, formerly Twitter, allowing it to resume operations in the country. This decision came after Musk agreed to block extremist accounts and pay fines.

Judge Alexandre de Moraes ordered the immediate reinstatement of X’s services and instructed the telecommunications authority to ensure the platform is accessible to all users within 24 hours.

In late August, the platform was banned in Brazil for failing to remove right-wing extremist accounts and not appointing an official representative in the country. At that time, Musk criticized the decision, calling it a violation of free speech.

However, Musk recently complied with the Brazilian authorities’ demands: X began blocking the required accounts, appointed a representative in Brazil, and paid the fines.
