Under the chairmanship of the President, a video conference was held to discuss strengthening preparations for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games and taking mass sports to a new level.
During the meeting, it was decided that "New Uzbekistan Olympic Peaks" competitions in Olympic sports will be held twice a year in various regions. It was also noted that the winners of the district and regional stages will be encouraged by local governors.
The winners of the regional stage will participate in the Presidential Olympiad, held annually in the Olympic Village from December 10 to 20.
Competition winners will be rewarded with valuable prizes, such as houses and cars. Athletes who take first and second places will be admitted to the Republican Olympic and Paralympic Center.
A scholarship system will be introduced for 1st and 2nd-year students.
Local first coaches play a key role in identifying and preparing young talents.
However, currently, only coaches from sports schools or national teams receive rewards for the athletes' achievements.
The President noted that this is not fair and emphasized that from now on, first coaches who trained athletes will receive up to 10% of the rewards allocated for national team coaches and athletes.
