OpenAI Unveils GPT-5
OpenAI has officially launched GPT-5, the newest generation of its language model, replacing GPT-4o and positioned as the most powerful tool in ChatGPT’s history.

According to the company, GPT-5 combines and surpasses all previous OpenAI achievements, improving answer accuracy, speed, logical analysis, contextual understanding, structured thinking, and the ability to solve complex problems.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman compared the evolution of the models to education levels: “GPT-3 was like a school student, GPT-4 like a college student, and GPT-5 is like a PhD-level expert.”

The model has made significant progress in programming: during its demo, GPT-5 built a fully functional French-learning website with an interactive game in just a few seconds. Developers say it is less likely to “hallucinate” facts and more willing to admit when it doesn’t know something.

From August 7, GPT-5 is available to all ChatGPT users. Free accounts can also access the model but with a limit on the number of queries.

The previous major OpenAI release was in June 2024, when the company introduced ChatGPT-4 Omni.
