Özwell is attracting $9.5 million from China for pharmaceutical breakthrough
Business
On August 8 in Shanghai, during the Uzbekistan–China Business Forum, Özwell signed a strategic cooperation memorandum with one of China’s largest pharmaceutical holdings — Zhendong Health Industry Group.
The total investment will amount to $9.5 million, including $4.5 million for the establishment of a world-class modern laboratory and $5 million for launching and expanding a production complex.
The partners will jointly produce pharmaceutical substances, ready-made medicines, dietary supplements, vitamins, cosmetics, hygiene products (including diapers), ophthalmic medicines, as well as functional food products — from toothpaste and nutritional pastes to protein soups and other nutraceuticals.
The agreement was made possible with the support of Uzbekistan’s Pharmaceutical Agency and its head, Abdulla Azizov. The company plans to implement international GMP+ and ISO standards, create new jobs, and bring Uzbek products to the global market.
