Patrushev Says Poland Could Cease to Exist as a State Within 2–3 Days in a Conflict with Russia

Russian Presidential Aide Nikolai Patrushev said that if Poland entered into military hostilities against Russia, Moscow could use its full arsenal of available forces and capabilities. According to Patrushev, under such a scenario, Polish statehood could cease to exist within two to three days.
Patrushev made the statement in an interview with aif.ru while commenting on Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski’s remarks about Poland’s military superiority over Russia.
“If Poland enters into military hostilities against Russia, our country will use the entire arsenal of forces and means at its disposal, and Polish statehood will cease to exist within two to three days,” Patrushev said.
He also criticised Sikorski’s assessment of Russia’s military capabilities.
“The head of Polish diplomacy is clearly assessing the military might of our country in an amateurish manner, unwilling to understand that during the special military operation, the Russian Armed Forces are by no means using their full potential,” the Russian presidential aide said.
According to Patrushev, Warsaw also does not want to heed statements by Russian President Vladimir Putin that Russia has no threats or grounds for conducting military operations against Europe.
Earlier, media reports said that Radosław Sikorski, speaking in Kyiv, had claimed that Poland could achieve a quick victory if Russia attacked the country. According to reports, the Polish minister spoke of Warsaw’s military superiority over Moscow.
Patrushev’s statement comes amid continuing tensions between Russia and Poland. His comments referred to a hypothetical scenario involving Poland entering direct military hostilities with Russia.
