President of Uzbekistan Attends Uzbek-Korean Business Forum

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea Han Duck-soo participated in the opening of a joint business forum.
The event is attended by over 300 representatives from government agencies and the business community, including heads of leading financial institutions, major industrial enterprises, and trading companies from both countries.
The Korean business sector is represented by companies such as Lotte Chemical, Hyundai Motor Group, Samsung C&T, CJ Group, Shinhan Financial Group, Hyundai Rotem, KIND, BOMI, Kia Corporation, Sampyo Group, Hansae Mobility, and others.
In his address, the Head of State emphasized that Korea is a time-tested friend and a special strategic partner of Uzbekistan, and that trade, economic, and investment cooperation constitute one of the key pillars of the multifaceted partnership between the two nations.
The successful operations and significant contributions of leading Korean companies to the development of Uzbekistan's economy were highlighted.
Uzbekistan is currently embarking on a new stage of industrial and technological development, creating broad prospects for expanding mutual trade, investment cooperation, and the implementation of new joint projects.
The leader of the state proposed combining Uzbekistan’s resource base, Korea’s advanced technologies, and the investment capital of companies from both countries to generate new drivers of economic growth.
The President outlined key areas for future economic partnership. These include industrial cooperation and the establishment of full-cycle production chains; energy and the "green" economy; transport and modern infrastructure; digitalization and artificial intelligence; semiconductors and microelectronics; biotechnology and pharmaceuticals; as well as joint research, the adoption of advanced technologies, and workforce training. Korean companies have been invited to participate in projects involving copper processing, the manufacture of electrical equipment, the localization of components for the automotive and electric vehicle industries, robotics and automation, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, hydropower, energy storage systems, power grid modernization, and the development of transport and urban infrastructure.
The establishment of an Uzbek-Korean industrial-technological alliance has been proposed as a practical mechanism for deepening industrial and technological cooperation.
The leader of Uzbekistan expressed a commitment to continue creating favorable conditions for Korean business operations in the country and to provide practical support for the implementation of joint projects.
