In continuation of the program of events of the “Central Asia + Japan” Dialogue, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in a multilateral business forum.

The event was also attended by Prime Minister of Japan Sanae Takaichi, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Current issues of developing trade and economic cooperation between Central Asia and Japan, attracting Japanese investments and advanced technologies to the region, expanding industrial cooperation, and strengthening direct contacts between business communities were discussed.

Joint economic projects were presented. Among them were such Uzbek–Japanese investment initiatives as the construction of two solar power plants in Uzbekistan by Sumitomo, Chubu Electric Power and Shikoku Electric Power with the support of JBIC and NEXI, modernization of IT infrastructure with the participation of Toyota Tsusho, establishment of a multidisciplinary medical center by Sojitz, as well as the development of new deposits of critical minerals with JOGMEC.

In the presence of the leaders, a ceremonial exchange of documents on the relevant projects took place.
