President of Uzbekistan Visits CIS National Cuisine Festival

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, together with the heads of delegations from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), visited a national cuisine festival held at the "Avaza" National Tourist Zone in Turkmenistan.
The festival showcased the culinary traditions of nine nations: Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.
At the Uzbekistan national stand, guests were shown pastries from various regions of the country, confectionery, and dried fruits, and were introduced to centuries-old bread-baking traditions. Chefs demonstrated the preparation of several types of *samsa* and traditional Khorezm dishes, including *shivit oshi*, *tukhumbarak*, and local flatbreads. Guests were also introduced to the variety of Uzbek *plov* and other national dishes.
Part of the exhibition was dedicated to folk crafts. Artisans from Rishtan, Bukhara, Margilan, and Samarkand displayed their wares and demonstrated traditional crafting techniques. Performances by national musicians added to the festive atmosphere.
After visiting the Uzbekistan stand, the heads of delegations toured the exhibitions of the other countries as well.
