The two sides welcomed the outcomes of the latest C5+1 Ministerial Meeting, which reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening dialogue and expanding multifaceted cooperation between the United States and Central Asian countries. The growing momentum of bilateral cooperation across key areas, including politics and security, trade and investment, innovation and technology, education and culture, was welcomed. Direct and constructive dialogue has been established between the parliaments and government agencies of both countries, while engagement between business communities and academic institutions continues to expand. Security cooperation is also strengthening, particularly in combating terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking and illegal migration. The launch of the Uzbekistan&ndash;U.S. Enhanced Strategic Partnership Dialogue marked an important milestone in bilateral relations. Its inaugural meeting resulted in the signing of several documents, including the Artemis Accords on peaceful space exploration. Economic cooperation remains a cornerstone of the strategic partnership. Bilateral trade has increased by 35 percent since the beginning of the year. The Economic Cooperation Program is progressing successfully, with major projects underway in civil aviation, automotive manufacturing, mining, energy, agriculture, digitalization and the financial sector. The important role of the Business and Investment Council in strengthening trade, economic and investment cooperation was emphasized. New agreements worth $12 billion were signed during today&rsquo;s Council meeting. Cooperation in the humanitarian sphere also continues to expand steadily. Webster University, the American University of Technology and the Colorado School of Mines Competence Center are successfully operating in Tashkent. The number of American tourists visiting Uzbekistan is also growing. The two sides also identified new opportunities for practical cooperation, particularly in critical minerals, energy, transport, artificial intelligence and digital technologies. Particular attention was given to strengthening cooperation between regions and facilitating exchanges of business delegations. The meeting also included an in-depth exchange of views on pressing international issues and regional security. Talks with GE Aerospace focused on training aviation professionals and upgrading their skills in response to growing demand for qualified personnel. The two sides agreed to jointly develop educational programmes for the training and professional development of aviation specialists. In the meeting with Binod Chaudhary, the parties discussed potential joint investment projects in food processing, the establishment of new production facilities and the expansion of distribution networks. Hospitality and real estate development were also on the agenda, including the development of hotel complexes involving local partners. Other areas considered included energy, infrastructure construction and healthcare. The sides agreed to work together on priority projects and the mechanisms for implementing them. With Quinn Martin, Kudratov discussed prospects for developing Uzbekistan&rsquo;s capital market, improving domestic companies&rsquo; access to international financial markets and attracting long-term foreign investment. Talks with Nikhil Bhatnagar focused on accelerating privatisation in the banking and financial sector, improving the management of state assets and promoting Uzbekistan&rsquo;s investment opportunities to international investors. A separate meeting with Mark Laverghetta focused on the advanced processing of critical minerals and the introduction of cutting-edge technologies. The summit focused on implementing the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, preparing its first global review, mobilizing funding and strengthening international cooperation. One of the framework&rsquo;s key targets is to ensure the effective conservation and management of at least 30% of terrestrial, inland water, coastal and marine areas by 2030. Abdukhakimov presented the results of Uzbekistan&rsquo;s environmental reforms. The share of protected natural areas has increased from 4% in 2016 to approximately 15%. Under the Bio Meros programme, the country aims to raise this figure to 20% by 2030 and 30% by 2035. Other measures include establishing an Eco-Police, strengthening state environmental oversight and increasing fines for violations of environmental legislation by 40%. According to the committee, spending on biodiversity conservation has more than tripled over the past four years, reaching $1 billion. Uzbekistan&rsquo;s priorities include restoring degraded ecosystems, digital monitoring, protecting rare species and safeguarding transboundary natural areas. The first initiative proposes an International Hub for Dryland Ecosystems to support scientific research, restore degraded land and conserve desert biodiversity, including in the Aral Sea region. The second initiative envisages establishing a Central Asian and Caucasus School of Artificial Intelligence for Nature Conservation at Green University and launching the AI-Ranger programme. The project would train specialists to use artificial intelligence, satellite monitoring and unmanned technologies to detect poaching, illegal logging and wildfires. The third initiative proposes creating a Central Asian Network of Transboundary Protected Areas by 2030, identifying five priority landscapes. The network would coordinate ecosystem restoration, protect migration corridors and conserve endangered species, including the saiga antelope and snow leopard. Uzbekistan has put forward three international initiatives to protect biodiversity and restore ecosystems at the Leaders for Nature summit in Yerevan. The country’s delegation to the event, held alongside the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP17), was led by Aziz Abdukhakimov, Presidential Adviser on Ecology and Chairman of the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change.
