Production of smart water meters for precise consumption monitoring established in Khojaabad

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited a technopark in the Khojaabad district and inspected the production of smart water meters.
Although the Andijan region covers a relatively small area, it is one of the country's most densely populated regions. Consequently, special attention is paid to the efficient use of every patch of land, the development of hilly terrain, and the creation of new industrial zones.
One such major project is the "Andijan Technopark," established in the Khojaabad district with $300 million in foreign investment. Plans are in place to locate 51 industrial enterprises on the 100-hectare site, which was developed by reclaiming hilly terrain.
Once the industrial zone is fully operational, it will create 3,000 new jobs. It will produce over 50 types of products with a total value of $200 million annually, generating 160 billion soums in budget revenue. The region's export potential will increase by $50 million.
A facility for manufacturing smart water meters has been built within the industrial zone in partnership with the Chinese company Sanchuan. This $25 million project is funded entirely by foreign investment. Eighty percent of the facility's production processes are automated.
The smart meters, produced in cooperation with Huawei and based on 5G technology, enable real-time monitoring of water consumption and quality, equipment status, and account balances.
The facility produces one million smart water meters across 15 different models annually. They feature a special design that prevents water accumulation and are housed in frost-resistant casings.
A dual education system has also been implemented at the facility.
Plans are in place to raise the localization level to 70 percent by 2030. To this end, facilities for the production of components and spare parts will be located within the industrial zone.
