Project of the Century: OTS Secretary General calls China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway key transport corridor
Economy
The construction of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway is set to become one of the most significant infrastructure projects in Central Asia, strengthening regional connectivity across the Turkic world. This was stated by the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Kubanychbek Omuraliev, in an interview with Sputnik Uzbekistan.
According to Omuraliev, the railway will soon demonstrate “maximum efficiency” and serve as the most practical transport corridor linking East and West.
The new line will connect China with Uzbekistan through Kyrgyzstan, forming the shortest route for freight transit between East Asia and Europe. The project is seen as a cornerstone of the OTS strategy to expand multimodal transport links and enhance economic integration across Eurasia.
Experts emphasize that the railway will boost trade, logistics, and regional cooperation, marking a major step toward a more interconnected Central Asia.
