Restrooms to Be Installed at Nine Tashkent Metro Stations
Uzbekistan
Nine of Tashkent's busiest metro stations will soon have restrooms and mother-and-child rooms. This decision came after an incident where a passenger relieved himself on the platform in front of other passengers.
Plans to install restrooms in the Tashkent metro were initially announced in January 2022, with the first experimental restroom appearing at Chilonzar station in February that year. However, the project did not advance further.
Two years later, on November 8, the Metropolitan Authority reported the successful completion of testing. Consequently, construction of restrooms and mother-and-child rooms has begun at nine stations.
